Marjorie Mills, LPC

Marjorie Mills is a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 19 years of clinical experience. She has worked across a variety of settings including a hospital, outpatient mental health clinic, and family support agencies. Her work experience has given her insight and understanding of mental health challenges for many populations. Her therapeutic approach is holistic, taking into consideration the whole person including their background, beliefs, and environment.

Marjorie’s therapeutic approach is client-centered and strengths-based. She engages with clients by accepting where they are in their lives and establishing trust within the therapeutic alliance.  Marjorie believes that therapy is collaborative recognizing clients have their own strengths and wisdom. This is the basis of exploration to start the process of healing and change.

Marjorie’s approach is rooted in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) which utilizes a variety of tools to help clients understand how their thoughts impact their feelings and behaviors. She also incorporates mindfulness into her therapeutic approach.   She sees adults 18 and older and her areaa of focus include depression, anxiety, post-partum depression, family conflict, grief, compassion fatigue, and chronic illness.

Marjorie is a native Pittsburgher. She graduated with a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology degree from Chatham University. She enjoys hiking, reading, cooking, and spending time with her family.
