Adamaris Perez, Ed.M

Mental Health Counselor

My ideal client is someone who seeks growth and change! I have experience working with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, trauma and issues related to life transitions, such as relationship challenges, death and mourning and more. The ideal client is someone who wants to take back their power and build healthier habits, relationships and way of living.

My approach is shaped by Intersectionality, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person Centered Therapy and Liberation Psychology. I believe that every person’s unique identities and experiences inform their perspectives and way of life. I value client experience, and use a trauma based lens to support clients. I take into consideration cultural background, historical context and today’s socio-political context to uplift clients and help them accomplish their goals.

I am a second generation Salvadoran American who was raised in Chelsea. I am passionate about working with first and second generation immigrants. I understand the unique challenges that many immigrant people and families face. I take great pride in my background, and hope to invoke the change I would like to see in my community. While I understand that therapy can feel scary, I believe that it never hurts to try. I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable to be vulnerable and learn more about themselves!
