Masters Level Therapist
I enjoy working with children, adolescents and adults who have experienced events that created barriers to exercising their full potential. In my experience I have found that client’s often come in feeling trapped inside a person they don’t truly know. Oftentimes we’re molded by experiences that we don’t know how to process causing reactions, or behaviors, we don’t understand. There may be a number of issues causing this intrapersonal conflict, but with a curiosity about oneself there is limitless opportunity for healing and growth. When a client steps into my office, it is not my goal to solve their problem, but to give them the tools and the confidence to solve it.
I have experience supporting a wide-variety of clients with anxiety, depression, adjustment, trauma, bipolar, substance use, dissociation and personality disorders or concerns. Additionally, my experience spans all levels of care (inpatient, residential, partial and outpatient programs), which has afforded me the opportunity to work with individuals from vastly different backgrounds. With a concentration in Advanced Trauma Informed Counseling, I intend to guide clients through both internally and externally processing their unique life experiences. I am passionate about finding realistic skills for each person’s needs. Although I may frequently utilize techniques from common modalities, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), I strive for a person-centered practice that emphasizes individualized care.
When deciding to take this step, clients should know that they are entering a space where they can be as brave as they so desire. I understand that each individual’s process is going to look different and hope to provide whatever is needed to make this therapeutic alliance as strong as possible.
