My goal is to listen, provide support, provide collaborative care (with the client, their family, their support system, and other providers), prescribe medications as needed and make referrals for a more robust care. As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, though the client’s mental health is priority, other aspect of the client’s life also paramount because they can easily impact the client’s mental health and so my goal is not just to focus on prescribing medications but also provide support and/or direct the client to other disciplines that can.

My clients should know that they have 100% control of their health and the care they receive, my goal is to simply be present, provide some direction and education based on evidence based practice. The client knows themselves best and so we have to work together for any treatment to work.
