Licensed Mental Health Counselor
I am open to most clients and find stating my ideal client difficult. However, I can most effectively help individuals process grief after losing significant others and clients in crisis. Individuals with a significant loss face the challenge of depression, anxiety, or trauma, as a few examples. These Individuals need support processing the event, honoring the lost person, and building resilience. Their goals will be setting new personal goals with their new identity and learning and practicing skills that foster hope and motivation for the future. These clients are seeking acknowledgment of their loss, understanding their new identity without the significant other, and knowledge of how to function daily while impacted by the loss.
I am eclectic in my approach to helping clients by developing a safe environment for them to express themselves. I am able to listen and acknowledge their experience. Through cognitive behavioral therapy, I can teach individuals coping skills and emotional regulation. Grounding, journaling, and value clarification are some techniques that can be helpful.
I am a therapist who has experience working with youthful offenders, individuals with developmental disabilities have experience working as a therapist with youthful offenders, individuals with developmental disabilities, and adults with chronic mental health conditions.
