Mary Dodd, MHC

Mental Health Counselor

I am a clinician at our Boston – Brighton clinic who provides therapy services!

My ideal client is an athlete or high-performing individual aged 18 to 35 who is struggling to balance their external drive with their internal well-being. On the outside, they’re ambitious, dedicated, and often seen as someone who “has it all together.” But behind the scenes, they’re dealing with pressure, performance anxiety, emotional burnout, or identity confusion—especially when life off the field or outside their role feels overwhelming or unsteady.

They need more than motivational talk or quick-fix strategies. They need a space where they can be real—where their mental health is prioritized as much as their goals. They’re seeking personalized support that blends performance tools with emotional resilience work. Whether it’s dealing with the pressure to perform, navigating injury or transition, or figuring out who they are beyond a single identity, they want support that speaks to both their mindset and their humanity.

Ultimately, what they want is to feel strong again—from the inside out. They want clarity, confidence, and tools to handle whatever comes next—without losing themselves in the process. They’re ready to do the inner work not just to succeed, but to feel whole while doing it.

I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help athletes and high performers build personalized coping skills. My approach focuses on shifting thought patterns and creating practical strategies tailored to each client’s unique needs. I combine mental health support with performance coaching so clients can build resilience, boost confidence, and thrive on and off the field.

I understand that seeking help can feel intimidating, especially when you’re used to being the strong one, whether on the field or in life. I want you to know that I’m here to listen without judgment and to walk alongside you, no matter where you are in your journey. Your struggles don’t define you, and you don’t have to face them alone.

Together, we’ll create a space where you can be honest, find clarity, and build the skills you need to feel confident and balanced. If you’re ready to take that next step toward feeling more like yourself—strong, capable, and supported—I’m here to help. Don’t hesitate to reach out; you deserve this.
