Lindsay O’Malley, MSW

I have extensive experience in chronic medical conditions, and treating individuals 60+. This is often a difficult period of transition in someone’s life whether it be adjusting to retirement, loss of independence, or seeking a new sense of purpose. I have worked with older adults in many settings including the community, nursing homes, hospice, dialysis and outpatient clinics. I also work with individuals 22+ struggling with a variety of eating disorders

I have extensive training from Boston University CADER on working with older adults. I also am a member of the American Academy of Eating Disorders and utilize many evidence based methods of treatment supported by AAED. I utilize CBT, narrative therapy and ACT. The method of treatment is determined based off the clients expressed needs, goals and desired outcomes.

I believe in meeting people where they are at. Therapy is a collaboration, I am not an expert in a clients life, they are. I am here to partner with them, to assist with goal development to help clients get to where they want to be. With my assistance, they identify their treatment goals. I am here to help break them down into measurable objectives and brainstorm ways we can work on these. The client is always in the drivers seat and ultimately chooses from the multiple options I will provide until they feel satisfied. Together we will target their goals using evidence based treatment and regularly communicate about how they feel the process is going.
