Lindsay Jaffe, LMHC

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

I am a clinician at our Chelsea clinic who provides therapy services!

As a new clinician, there is no one ideal client that I picture myself working with. However, based on my job experience and internship placements, I have found myself working with mostly children and young women. I would like to expand my clientele to older clients, male clients, couples, families, etc. Their issues might include anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship issues, sexual trauma, domestic violence, or behavioral issues. Their needs might include emotional or community support while being provided with the necessary tools and strategies to regulate their emotions, which will strengthen their interpersonal relationships and boost their resilience. Their goals might include reducing any negative symptoms they may be experiencing, improving overall well-being, and maintaining the skills we build together during therapy. I would also be interested in working with individuals with personality disorders because my degree had a large focus on this.

I can help by creating an open and non-judgmental space to freely talk through any feelings and thoughts the client is having. I will add an aspect of humor as needed to make the client more comfortable in sharing their issues and ideas. My specialty would ideally be trauma-focused treatment as my knowledge and training expand. I will be patient and meet my client where they are at in order to communicate most effectively and build rapport.

I believe that everyone has the potential for personal growth and development, and I am dedicated to providing a safe and compassionate environment in which my clients can explore their many different thoughts and feelings. I am a big advocate of yoga as a form of therapy outside of the office. I believe the mind and body are directly affected by one another, so it is equally important to take care of both. Yoga offers an outlet for us to process any emotions we are holding in our bodies that our minds might not even be aware of yet. I’m here to support my clients on their journey, however that looks to them. Together, we can explore the paths to a more fulfilling life and help them reach their full potential.
