My ideal client is receptive to the process of therapy and change and would like to take accountability and responsibility to begin addressing what has been holding them back. Whether this is work, relationship, family concerns, my goal is to actively listen and gain more knowledge about what they may be struggling with while withholding judgement and any pre-conceived ideas. Ultimately, my client will want to actively explore some of their challenges and search for more effective resolutions and coping strategies. The goal being for us to work collaboratively towards minimizing stress, resolving conflict (both inner and outer) and arrive at a place of better understanding and increased tranquility over their life.
My goal in helping clients is to begin by being a safe place to address life’s challenges. Listening without judgement and seeking to understand clients challenges in a meaningful way is always the goal. I utilize CBT and DBT techniques and also employ active listening at all times. My goal in helping clients meet their goals is to assist in addressing challenges and at the same time allow clients to get there on their own timeframe.
Understanding and addressing life’s challenges can feel like a full-time job. I welcome the opportunity to help in facilitating improved coping strategies, stress reduction techniques and generally helping to determine what options may work better.
