I am a provider at our Middleboro clinic who provides therapy services in-person and via telehealth. I would like the opportunity to work with diverse populations with an array of different needs, abilities, and backgrounds. My ideal client would be someone who is committed to the therapeutic process. Someone who is ready to work together collaboratively to help set goals and make positive changes in their lives. Some client goals might be to improve their mental health, to work through grief or trauma, to find meaning in their life, or to develop new skills and habits. The goals can be specific and measurable or more general and open-ended. I believe all clients need to feel heard and understood and receive the support and guidance they need to manage their concerns and make positive changes.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Focusing on changing patterns of negative thinking and behavioral responses by teaching clients to identify and challenge distorted thoughts and develop new coping mechanisms.
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Focusing on teaching clients skills in emotional regulation, mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance to help them manage their symptoms more effectively.
- Compassion-Focused Therapy: This is on developing self-compassion and kindness and can be particularly helpful for clients who struggle with feelings of shame and self-blame related to their trauma/symptoms.
- Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR): Teaching clients mindfulness meditation and other mindfulness techniques, which can help them learn to reduce their stress and anxiety.
