Julianna Kinslow, MHC

Mental Health Counselor

I am a clinician at our Marlborough clinic who offers therapy services!

As a therapist grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I work best with individuals who are feeling stuck, whether it’s in patterns of anxiety, depression, low self-worth, or chronic stress. My ideal client is someone who might not have all the answers yet, but they’re open to exploring their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions in a structured and compassionate space.
They may be experiencing:
– Persistent negative self-talk or self-doubt
– Overwhelming worry or panic
– Difficulty enjoying life or finding motivation
– Struggles with perfectionism or people-pleasing
– Repetitive patterns in relationships or work that feel hard to change
My clients are often seeking clarity, calm, and confidence. They want to:
– Understand their patterns and where they come from
– Learn practical tools to manage overwhelming emotions or spiraling thoughts
– Feel more in control of their reactions and choices
– Build resilience, self-compassion, and a greater sense of purpose
– Strengthen their relationships with themselves and with others
I strive to always be collaborative, honest, and strengths-based. I bring warmth and structure to our sessions, helping you not only understand what’s going on but also what to do about it. I use evidence-based CBT approaches, but I tailor our work to who you are, your goals, your values, and your pace. I believe therapy should feel safe, but also active and empowering.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, is a structured, evidence-based approach that focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful patterns of thinking and behavior that contribute to emotional distress. If you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, or persistent stress, CBT can offer you a clearer understanding of how your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact and how these cycles can be shifted to support your well-being. In therapy, we’ll work collaboratively to explore how your current patterns may reinforce feelings of helplessness, worry, or self-criticism. You’ll learn practical strategies for managing distressing thoughts, improving emotional regulation, and making choices that align with your values and long-term goals.
As your therapist, my role is both supportive and active. I bring clinical expertise and structure to our work, but I also prioritize creating a safe, respectful space where you feel heard and understood. I’ll guide you through the process at a pace that feels right for you, offering research-based tools tailored to your unique experiences and needs. My goal is to help you feel better in the moment and empower you with the insight and skills needed to navigate future challenges with greater confidence and resilience.

I want you to know that therapy with me is a partnership. I truly believe that change happens when we feel seen, heard, and understood. While I bring clinical expertise to our work, I always prioritize creating a space where you feel comfortable, safe, and respected. I know that seeking help can feel vulnerable, and it’s okay if you’re unsure about what to expect or even hesitant to take the first step. I’m here to listen to your concerns, validate your experiences, and help you discover new ways of thinking and being that align with your true self. My approach is collaborative and non-judgmental, and I will meet you where you are, whether you’re just beginning to understand your struggles or have already tried other approaches. If you’re ready to make a positive change, or even if you’re just curious about how therapy can help, I invite you to reach out. You don’t have to go through this alone. I’m here to help you navigate whatever comes your way.
