Licensed Clinical Social Worker
I am unable to imagine a “perfect” client for two reasons. There isn’t such thing as perfect, and any client that takes the first step of wanting to meet with a clinician deserves the respect of being able to identify their own issues, needs or goals.
As a strength based clinician, I am open to meeting with any individual, couple or family that would like assistance in achieving their desired outcomes for the things they want and the reasons they want them.
The only expectations I have of any client is to be committed, transparent and patient with the therapeutic process as it pertains to change.
Through motivational interviewing, I would develop a better understanding of the client, their wants, needs and goals. Using a strength based approach and systems theory, together we would collaborate and develop a course of action that would ultimately assist the client in achieving their goals.
I use a forthcoming and transparent by doing the best I can, with what I know, in the moment to ensure safety and accountability between myself and anyone I work with. Through discussion we will identify goals, collaborate on ways to achieve goals, meet goals and identify new goals.
