I am a multicultural counselor and work with all age ranges. I work with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, and all types of DSM-diagnosable mental health conditions. I work from a person-centered and humanistic approach, so all clients are welcome.
I have experience working with children ages 1-21. I have worked with adults, parents, families, couples, and groups. I have worked in community-based settings, hospital and residential settings, and outpatient setting. I have a lot of experience working with eating disorders, trauma, anxiety & depression. I have a lot of experience with family therapy and in-home family therapy. I have experience working with the LGBTQ+ community, the BIPOC community, the Autism spectrum community & other neurodivergence, and English as-a-second-language community. I practice from a humanistic and person-centered approach, so in session I like to offer empathy, validation, support, and meet my clients where they are at.
Josh uses an integrative approach, with emphasis on Person-centered therapy, and Psychodynamic and Feminist models. In addition, Josh has training and specialization in Trauma-Focused CBT; CBT, & DBT. Josh’s specialty is working with anxiety, depression, developmental disabilities, eating disorders and trauma across the lifespan, with a passion for supporting underserved populations, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ issues. Josh has lots of experience working with kids ages 1-21 in mental health settings, and also with adults. Josh has experience working in outpatient, family, and group therapy models. Josh is a White, Irish-American, English-speaking, person who was assigned male at birth, but understands their gender as a spectrum. Josh identifies as bisexual, and uses the words queer, gender-queer, non-binary and genderfluid to describe themselves. Josh also identifies as a gamer-affirming, poly affirming, kink affirming, sex worker positive and body-affirming therapist . His hobbies include fencing, tennis, playing video games, hiking/traveling and spending time with family and friends.
