Licensed Mental Health Counselor
I am a clinician at our Hyannis clinic who provides therapy services!
I am open to working with individuals with a variety of different presentations. However, I am especially passionate about working with children, adolescents, adults, families, and women. I focus on challenges related to ADHD, school or career stress, gender identity exploration, mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, self-harm, trauma, relationship struggles, parenting, and pregnancy or postpartum transitions. While I do not exclusively offer couples counseling, I enjoy working with individuals, groups, and families.
These clients often come to therapy feeling burnt out, confused, misunderstood, stuck, or uncertain about how to move forward in their lives. They want clarity about themselves and their relationships, relief from emotional pain, and tools to manage overwhelming thoughts, feelings, or behaviors. I want to help them feel safe, seen, and supported —especially when they may not have that elsewhere.
Their goals typically include creating a life where they feel safe, in control, and empowered. To reach their ideal life, we add small goals along the way – including creating a support system, identifying maladaptive thoughts and behaviors, improving self-esteem, developing healthy coping strategies, deepening self-awareness, fostering healthier communication, healing from past trauma, and building a stronger sense of identity and autonomy. I am passionate about helping clients create meaningful change in their lives using their own strengths.
I believe in the strength-based approach to therapy. This approach emphasizes that clients are the experts of their own lives and possess the inner strengths and resources needed to support healing and growth.
As a therapist, my role is to support clients in identifying and building upon these inner strengths to create positive, lasting change.
I believe that psychoeducation and therapeutic homework are essential tools in the therapeutic process. Therapeutic homework helps clients deepen their understanding and reinforces the insights gained during sessions. As the saying goes, “Practice makes perfect.” By actively applying these new skills in their daily lives, clients can support lasting change and make these skills feel more natural and effective.
Therapy is a very personal experience. Therefore, the specific interventions we use depend on the concerns being addressed. For transitional challenges, we may use motivational interviewing with a solution-focused approach. To process trauma, we might use Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. To improve emotion regulation, we may implement techniques from Dialectical Behavior Therapy. If there is a history of self-harm, we may focus on safety planning and learning adaptive coping skills. For relationship challenges, we often rely on psychoeducation, building support systems, and enhancing communication skills. My role is to personalize the interventions to your unique experiences.
I understand that starting therapy can feel intimidating, especially when you’re already carrying so much. That’s why I prioritize building a trusting relationship where you feel comfortable exploring your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace. This is a space where you are welcomed exactly as you are—whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck, or simply just curious about yourself. I aim to create a safe, compassionate, and nonjudgmental environment where you can feel seen, heard, and supported.
I take a very hands-on approach, practicing skills during sessions and providing therapeutic homework to help you continue that growth outside of the office. When words aren’t enough, I often incorporate techniques from expressive therapies—such as art, movement, play, or breathwork—to support emotional expression, self-regulation, and healing. As a certified yoga teacher, I may guide you through gentle movement, mindful breathing, or relaxation practices to help reconnect with your body and promote the parasympathetic nervous system. We might also use creative tools like drawing, journaling, or storytelling to explore emotions and build insight in a way that feels accessible and empowering. Whatever your needs are, I want to help you identify and move toward your ideal life—by building on your strengths, fostering resilience, and creating meaningful change.
