Jacklyn Barnicle, MSW

Master of Social Work

An ideal client would be someone willing to engage in therapeutic work, is open-minded, and seeks to gain personal growth throughout our time working together. Preferably someone who is a young adult or older; one who struggles with experienced and unresolved trauma, as well as those who are challenged by anxiety, depression, and substance misuse issues or substance use disorders. An ideal client’s goals could encompass seeking to achieve and maintain sobriety, learning coping skills to alleviate unwanted symptoms related to mental health challenges or illness, increasing self-worth and self-confidence, and learning how to create, improve, and maintain healthy interpersonal relationships.

I can assist with providing a supportive and non-judgmental environment that helps clients navigate their way through tough or confusing times while joining them on their journey toward deeper self-discovery and understanding. My approach is client-centered and aims to support individuals who seek more clarity and healing from difficult experiences in their past, as well as challenges with alcohol and/or substance misuse, substance use disorders, anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

The reasons to enter therapy vary greatly, but wherever you’re at and where you want to go, I would be privileged to join you on that journey through doing therapeutic work together. Our experiences shape the life we have lived but do not define who we are or dictate what we are to become. I aim to meet clients where they’re at and hope to provide a space where they can feel safe and comfortable. I am open-minded, kind, and believe that humor can be a helpful tool for healing. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you’d like to explore various goals you may have, challenges you’re experiencing, and if you seek to learn what a more meaningful life can look like for you.
