I can help by using cognitive behavioral therapy. I have a specialty in using hands-on activities for adolescents. I believe when using your creativity in creating something it can show the capability of the client’s process skills as well as to show how the client is able to use problem solving, the way the client is able to communicate effectively etc. Strategies that I’ve used for years may work for one client but not for all so learning the flexibility on how to treat each client is also important to often be aware of. Using a lot of strategies with affirmations or even building strong skills out in the community can be an impactful resource to my client. Real life skills are what can help the client grow as a person in having independence. Creating a safe space for the client and being able to validate the clients emotions and feelings when speaking. It’s important that I also meet the client on the level where they are at because depression can show mood dysregulation. Navigating my client to connect with their goals everyday with meditation and mindfulness is important. It can bring a sense of peace for the client. My main focus is to help the client focus on the present by creating a positive thought process. This will be beneficial to developing a favorable range of feelings resulting in positive behaviors.
I am aware of the challenges that come with seeking therapy and want to be a support to those who are hesitant with the process. In my sessions, I like to work together as experts tackling your problems. I am interactive and genuine and will always be honest and upfront with you. I incorporate elements of cognitive behavioral, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness as appropriate. My focus is to help clients overcome personal and interpersonal barriers. Clients are able to gain insight into themselves, and their relationships and achieve personal growth within themselves and in their relationships.
