Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate
I am open and willing to take a variety of different clients and diagnoses, ranging from depression, anxiety, adjustment disorder, substance use, addictions, social anxiety, and anyone struggling with navigating the age of social media and technology. I am looking to work with clients who would like an unbiased standpoint, and would be open to challenge their current habits, experiences, and ways of thinking. I believe that everyone can benefit from having someone they can speak to outside of their day-to-day lives to help them process experiences, whether big or small.
I have experience and knowledge in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Rogerian Client-Centered Therapy, and solution-focused therapy. I believe that the key to change and growth is to understand how a person’s past effects their day-to-day actions, while applying mindfulness and interpersonal effectiveness into daily routine. I believe that given time with a client, I can help them to consider fresh perspectives, and help them to incrementally achieve their goals one day at a time, and at their own pace.
My clients should know that I am never going to approach treatment from a position of superiority, but rather, do my best to relate to them and their situation. I believe that counseling should encourage the autonomy and choice of the client first, and then working together to find a solution, or just help in whatever ways I can to aid in processing. I am relatively young, but have always been able to connect to anyone, and offer analysis of their situation and/or social interactions they’ve had. I have always been a pretty talkative person, and have always enjoyed getting to know people, and conversing about any interpersonal conflicts.
