Dorcas Kangethe, PMHNP-BC

Board Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Going through my mind and all the cases I have seen, however it is very hard for me to pick an ideal client. This can be explained by how unique human beings are., Each case of mental health presents differently, for example two individuals suffering from depression are going to present differently. I had imagined my ideal client being a student with anxiety that worsened during exams, or a new mom who was going through postpartum depression, a middle age person who had been treated for depression, anxiety, insomnia for many years or a someone from the army, combat with PTSD, night mares, insomnia. Someone who lost their job and became homeless and no social support, anyone from LGBTQ, anyone with adjustment d/o from relocating or from life changes, an individual with Bipolar I, Bipolar 2, schizophrenia. It could be school age child, high schooler with attention and concentration, anxiety, developmental and cognitive issues, or ETOH and illicit drugs use with addiction. Individualized care is my focus, with the goal of making a difference in peoples life. My clients want someone to fix them.
