Cole Kennedy, MSW

Hello! My name is Cole Kennedy and I am a provider at our Attleboro clinic who provides therapy services in-person and via telehealth. I want to thank you for taking the time to read this. Working in the “here-and-now” puts emphasis on the most important part of the therapeutic process which is the relationship between the client and clinician! I look forward to building that relationship with you. I promise to provide unconditional positive regard, a bit of humor, and a safe space for those willing to embark on the journey of therapy.
My clinical experience spans multiple populations including trauma work with youth/adolescents with differing diagnoses such as ADHD, adjustment disorder, depression, and anxiety. I have experience working in grief and bereavement and am honored to work with clients who share their varying levels of loss. It is difficult to say what the “ideal client” would look like, but someone who is newer to therapy and willing to engage in the process in order to provide them with a positive experience and frame therapy in a positive light moving forward.
I enjoy exploring negative thought patterns, identifying cognitive distortions, and offering opportunities to reframe self-talk for a conducive and collaborative session. My past experience working as a mobile crisis counselor helped refine my de-escalation and grounding techniques as well as safety plan when a client is in crisis. I am a type one diabetic who understands what it is like to have a chronic disease and the mental health obstacles that come along with these diagnoses. Utilizing motivational interviewing skills, CBT, and psychodramatic techniques I can offer a variety of tools to fit the clients preferences.
