Issues could include grief and loss, management of anxiety symptoms, processing of trauma, management of PTSD symptoms, navigating psychosis and the impact it has on their current level of functioning, persons in recovery from substance use disorder. Goal is control over their own lives and building interpersonal relationships that act as a support and guide for their well-being. Identifying what brings them joy and how to cope with the instability and unknown that is life. Understanding the answers they seek come from a place of inherent wisdom that only they have access to. Serving as a guide to understanding the self.
I have worked with populations 18+ that have experienced SUD and MH co-occurring diagnoses. Worked with persons to process trauma through Accelerated Resolution Therapy. Incorporation of DBT skills to find relief from rumination and anxiety. Offer the space to have a human experience without it being pathologized.
I believe in continuous expansion and growth to meet the needs of the individual. I offer the ability to be flexible, understanding, and provide a non-judgmental space to be seen and heard as a human being, full of knowledge and wisdom. Focus on exponential change that impacts the person served and enables them to be the conduit of change for others.
