I have worked with client’s who experience depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, PTSD, adjustment to phase of or change in life, relationship issues, and ADHD. My client’s needs have been to be heard, valued, affirmed, validated, taught and led, challenged, encouraged, and to experience relief. Their goals are often to manage or experience resolution of their symptoms or their situation. They want peace, joy, understanding, hope, love, (to name a few good things) because they are human and these are things we strive for.
I care. I provide a safe space for clients to tell their story. I provide empathy and feedback; sometimes suggestions, another point of view, challenge beliefs and thoughts that contribute to how a client is feeling, thinking, believing and behaving, and psycho-education. I teach coping, communication and social skills, use techniques from CBT, DBT, psychotherapy, narrative therapy and motivational interviewing. I learn my client’s strengths and gifts and encourage my client’s to use their strengths and gifts.
I have a belief that every person is valuable, every person has a story to tell and deserves to be heard, every person can heal and every person plays the lead role in their healing. I consider it a privilege to hear your story and play a part in your healing.
