I hope to work with anyone who is motivated to learn about themselves, better understand themselves, and commit to their growth. I know that the specific challenges and obstacles can look different for everyone, especially depending on one’s background and life experiences. The decision to pursue therapy may arise from big, overwhelming feelings, or unhelpful behaviors. My clients are looking for someone who they feel safe and comfortable with, and someone who accepts and supports them through whatever difficulties they face, while gently challenging growth and forward progress throughout treatment. I think of therapy as a space where we can share the weight of the things that are outside of our control, and also empower ourselves to take action in areas we can control. My clients will take the steps to become more aware and mindful of how they are currently operating, and work towards implementing coping skills, values-aligned actions, and concrete steps towards their goals to improve their wellbeing.
In my clinical experience thus far, I have mostly worked with young adults and college students, including an internship at MCPHS offering counseling services to graduate students. I also have experience working with adolescents and older adults at a group practice, and am hopeful to expand my horizons and work with people of all ages, backgrounds, and presentations. I know that it can be hard sometimes to find a therapist who is well-suited for your needs, and always encourage folks to be patient and forthright in your process of finding a good fit. Please feel free to reach out if you have interest, questions, or concerns about potentially working together!
