Master’s Level Therapist
Therapy is not a quick fix, but rather a tool for self-exploration, growth, and change. My ideal client is someone who approaches therapy with and open mind. Life throws us a variety of challenges, whether they stem from school, work, family dynamics, relationship issues, interpersonal struggles, or introspective concerns. A good candidate for therapy understands that the process requires active participation and dedication, and that it’s not always about finding immediate solutions, but about learning healthier ways to cope with and address life’s complexities. They are willing to be vulnerable and open to examining their thoughts, behaviors, and emotions, even when it may feel uncomfortable. They understand that progress often comes in stages and that setbacks are a natural part of the journey. This client is proactive, actively engaging in the therapeutic process by applying insights gained in sessions to real-life situations. They reflect on their own beliefs, values, and responses, which can be vital for understanding personal patterns and addressing deeper issues. Moreover, this client is patient with themselves, acknowledging that healing and self-improvement are ongoing processes. They recognize that therapy is not a magical solution but a collaborative tool to help them navigate challenges, enhance coping strategies, and build a stronger sense of self. This mindset leads to more sustainable and meaningful progress, empowering the individual to achieve lasting positive change.
I am a trauma-informed therapist, who specializes in a wide range of areas including, but not limited to depression, anxiety, stress management, motivation, grief, trauma, self-esteem, relationships, LGBTQIA+ issues, and neurodiversity. My approach is grounded in active listening and evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness. These modalities allow me to tailor my approach to meet each client’s unique needs, helping them gain the skills to manage their emotions, improve their self-esteem, and navigate life’s challenges. I approach every client with empathy, creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and supported. Confidentiality is a priority in my practice, ensuring that clients can speak freely and honestly. I also place great importance on cultural competency, recognizing and valuing the diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences that shape each individual’s perspective. In therapy, I work to honor these unique experiences, integrating them into our sessions. Setting clear boundaries is essential for maintaining a healthy therapeutic relationship, and I make sure to establish and uphold those boundaries with respect. I am committed to ongoing self-reflection and further learning to ensure that I am providing the most effective, ethical care possible. My goal is to empower clients to develop coping skills, build self-compassion, and achieve personal growth, all while creating a supportive and collaborative environment that fosters healing and lasting change.
I’ve always known that therapy was my true calling. My journey has given me a deep well of emotional intelligence, allowing me to connect with clients from all walks of life. I bring this combination of knowledge and life experience into every session, ensuring that I can meet each person where they are without judgment. No matter the reason an individual is seeking support, I genuinely believe that every person deserves compassion, understanding, and the tools to heal. I’m passionate about helping people navigate their challenges and empowering them to find strength within themselves. Therapy, to me, isn’t just a profession; it’s a way of life. I deeply value the trust my clients place in me and feel honored to walk alongside them in their healing process. No matter a person’s background, I strive to provide a space that’s inclusive and accepting, where all can feel safe to explore and grow. I believe that empathy, paired with my dedication and knowledge, can truly make a difference in anyone’s journey.
