Taylor Stevens, BA, Intern

Intern

I am a clinician at our Falmouth clinic who provides therapy services!

My ideal client is likely an adolescent or young adult who is navigating challenges that feel overwhelming but not insurmountable. They may be struggling with issues such as anxiety, self-esteem, peer pressure, or family conflict. Their goals are realistic and achievable with guidance and support, and that’s where our work together becomes meaningful. What they want most is someone to walk alongside them—to listen without judgment, to offer tools when needed, and to believe in them when they’re struggling to believe in themselves. They don’t expect someone to “fix” everything, but they do want support and a helping hand to move forward.

I have worked with at-risk youth for the past three years, which has given me valuable insight into their mindsets and the underlying reasons behind the way they think and behave. Many of them tend to open up to me quickly, likely because I’m closer to their age and make an intentional effort to be relatable, approachable, and personable in my interactions. I use a humanistic and Gestalt approach to help clients recognize that they are more than their diagnosis, empowering them to reconnect with their strengths and sense of self.

As I start my very first internship in the counseling field, I want clients to know that I’m learning and growing right alongside them. This is a completely new experience for me, and while I may not have all the answers yet, I bring a lot of heart, dedication, and a genuine desire to help. I truly care about the people I work with, and I want to create a space where they feel safe, heard, and supported. My goal isn’t to fix anyone, but to be someone they can trust and open up to. I understand the importance of having someone who listens without judgment, and I strive to be that person for my clients as I continue to develop in this field.
