Mental Health Counselor
Hello, I’m Simar Bawa, a mental health counselor at our Brighton clinic who provides therapy services in-person and via telehealth. Most importantly, I am committed to creating a empathetic and non-judgmental space for clients to learn more about themselves and where their behaviors stem from. I have experience working with kids, young adults, and adults navigating quarter-life concerns. As a queer-identifying and immigrant therapist, I have always felt strongly about specializing in working with immigrant and LGBTQ populations.
In my sessions, I aim to collaborate with clients to create a therapeutic strategy that would best help address their needs and fulfill their goals. Therapeutic modalities I tend to gravitate towards the most include dialectical behavior therapy, narrative therapy, attachment-based therapy, and somatic therapy.
I am dedicated to using a trauma-informed and multicultural lens while working with clients. I understand that every client has their own unique story and I look forward to learning about more yours!
