Rebecca “Beq” Lendvay, BA, Intern

Intern Therapist

(She/Her; They/Them)

I am an Intern at our Marlborough who provides therapy services!

When dealing with overwhelming emotions, it can be hard to know where to even begin. As a mental health counselor, I’m here to help with that. I am enthusiastic about working with just about any type of client, from children to older adults, on a wide range of issues. I feel particularly drawn to working with people who have difficulty understanding or expressing their emotions, and people who have been impacted by trauma in some way, regardless of their specific diagnosis. I firmly believe that all people have the capacity to heal and thrive, and that counseling provides a space for them to develop personal insights and embrace their strengths in order to do so.

I approach counseling from a client-centered foundation, incorporating tools and techniques from a number of therapeutic modalities including play therapy, expressive arts techniques, mindfulness, existential therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and beyond. I treat therapy as a collaborative process, where my clients are the experts on themselves, and together we explore what can best support and empower them to reach their wellness goals. I do my best to provide care that is trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and individually relevant, with the hope that each of my clients feels safe, seen, and supported.

I want my clients to know that I am here for them, unconditionally. Progress isn’t linear; humans are complicated; that’s okay! It is important to me to meet people where they’re at, and to show up for them with empathy, respect, and honesty. I value transparency and authenticity in my work, and try to make the counseling process personalized, flexible and, hopefully, even fun.
