Kenna Tyrrell, LMHC

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

I am a clinician at our Worcester clinic who provides therapy services!

I work well with clients who are help seeking, open minded, and willing to get curious about themselves. I work with folks who are anxious, depressed, dealing with systemic issues, identity issues, and who are seeking ways to move towards self actualization in ways that make sense for them. I work with client’s who have chronic and complex PTSD, transitional life issues, and the LGBTQIA+ community. I want clients to feel welcomed, safe, and ready to explore deeper work while also utilizing skills to manage day to day needs. I want my client’s feeling like they are moving towards more authentic versions of themselves.

I offer a blend of holistic methods to my therapy sessions. I want therapy to feel accessible and safe for clients to explore different aspects of themselves and their history. I offer a down to earth approach, mixed with some humor, and a mind/body/spirit orientation to help client’s gain insight into their values and what they want from life. I will also apply practical skills using CBT and DBT to set goals to make moving towards authentic living a reality. I also have a background in treating and working with folks in partial hospital programs adding to my diverse skill set in handling crisis and safety needs as they arise with compassion and care. I also have extensive training in mind/body science and its approaches to understanding behavior especially with complex and systemic trauma. I also have been undergoing trainings in Internal Family Systems (IFS).

As a queer person living in the world today I understand the importance of having safe spaces. I want to take my time and get to know my client’s from a holistic perspective. Meaning, I want to know more than just the diagnosis or symptoms. I value the therapeutic alliance and connection built with all my clients as each one is unique. I also know I don’t have all the answers but let’s find out together and I will do my best to always seek more information and get more trainings if I am not meeting a client’s need. I also want to know your pets, hobbies, things that bring you joy. I have been known to enjoy a good meme from time to time as well as pop culture/gamer/nerdy references.
