I approach all clients using trauma-informed care and use an integrative approach of modalities when working with clients including Mindfulness, ACT, CBT, MI, Narrative, and Psychoeducation with efforts to best match the unique needs of each individual and meet them where they are while also providing knowledge and tools to encourage independence and growth. I have a long history and understanding of working with dual diagnosis substance use and mental health disorders and psychopharmacology including MAT.
I do my best to truly connect with my clients by not only listening to and understanding them when they verbalize their thoughts and experiences but also empathetically by tuning into and feeling their emotions as they express themselves and their concerns. I am passionate about helping clients raise their self-awareness and better identify their thoughts and emotions and the impact they have on their behaviors and life choices so that i can help empower them to increase their confidence and self-worth and learn or enhance tools and strategies to cope with their unique struggles in order to live a more fulfilling life. I find it important to maintain a healthy balance of being sensitive to meeting clients where they are while also challenging and encouraging them to grow where appropriate and embrace their individual capabilities and inner strength.
