Mental Health Counselor

Hi, I’m Evelyn Alvarado-Coronel and I offer therapy services at our Newton clinic.

I am a recent graduate from Northeastern University. I have a Master’s of Science degree in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in child and adolescents. I have experience working with children and teens in an outpatient therapy setting. I am excited to work with people across all ages to foster a supportive and nonjudgmental environment. In my practice, I use a strength-based, eclectic approach, to best serve my clients and their needs.

I use techniques from motivational interviewing, cbt, and narrative therapy to empower my clients in meeting their goals. Together, we will create a meaningful and safe space where thoughts and emotions are shared. Through the integration of coping skills and self-compassion, we will work together to face life stressors.

As a low income first-generation Latina, I understand the difficulties and stigma in reaching out for help. I am here to support you in taking this step and working together to take on life’s challenges. You are important and deserve to be heard.
