My ideal clients would be adolescent-aged children to young adults. I would like to be of aid to individuals who are actively in the process of exploring their self-identity. This task can easily be complicated by symptoms of mental-health disorders such as depression, anxiety, ASD, ADHD, or even pervasive feelings of insecurity. I hope to work with individuals that are looking for a safe space, somewhere where they can examine their challenges and feel their pain in a context absent of judgement. While the issues, needs, and goals of clients will vary between individuals, I ultimately hope to aid those on a journey towards self-acceptance.
In my previous working experience, the importance of providing empathic understanding and unconditional positive regard has become increasingly apparent. Alongside this type of support, I believe I can utilize techniques of person-centered and emotion-focused therapy techniques to aid those experiencing symptoms of things like anxiety, depression, trauma, and ASD.
At its foundation, I view therapy as a space where individuals can be supported and heard without feeling judgement. People experience problems in all different areas of their lives, and I hope to harness authenticity as a tool to encourage my clients in feeling safe and to encourage their open exploration of their individualized issues.
