Alisha Tonks, LMHC, LADCI

Licensed Mental Health Counselor

I obtained my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Social Relations at the University of New England in Maine and went on to obtain my Master’s in Addiction Counseling. I provide therapy services at our Haverhill, MA clinic.

I have experience in multiple different treatment settings, including detox, CSS, residential, outpatient, and partial hospitalization. I have worked across the age continuum, mostly with adolescents and adults, and use a multitude of different modalities, including expressive/art activities.

I specialize in addiction recovery, specifically substance use, as well as marginalized communities. I draw from evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and strengths-based, person-centered care. My work is rooted in a holistic perspective, honoring the connection between mind, body, and life context.

I believe in meeting you where you are—with compassion, curiosity, and respect for your individual journey. Together, we’ll work to uncover your inner strengths, build practical tools, and create lasting change aligned with your goals and values. You are the author, and illustrator, of your own story. I look forward to supporting you in writing the rest.
