Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Hello! I’m Stephanie Leahy, a licensed therapist at the Pembroke office of NEHS. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston and my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University in Cambridge. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in both school and outpatient settings. I primarily work with adolescents, emerging adults, and adults navigating difficulties such as anxiety, depression, life transitions, interpersonal relationship issues, trauma, and educational or occupational stressors.
It’s important to me that clients feel comfortable and supported in therapy. I make it a priority to provide a non-judgmental space for clients to be open and have the opportunity to grow. I utilize strengths based, person centered, relational, and CBT approaches. Together we’ll explore patterns, reframe thoughts, and understand and manage symptoms.
I recognize that starting therapy can be intimidating and overwhelming. I strive to create a safe environment for all clients. Being vulnerable is not only brave, but allows for increased connection and reflection. I meet my clients with compassion, validation, and humor when helpful. I look forward to supporting you in prioritizing your well-being!
