Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified
My clients come to me with mental health challenges that create distress and difficulty functioning. These can include disorders such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, substance use, OCD, bipolar, schizophrenia, and borderline personality. They may also seek support for specific stressors, such as anger, despair, low confidence, and loneliness. Patients need compassionate, nonjudgmental care and effective interventions to process their emotions and improve overall well-being. Their goals will include enhancing quality of life, maintaining meaningful relationships and careers, and building independence and self-esteem. This is where I, as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, can help.
Using advanced practice nursing frameworks and a holistic mindset, I assess, diagnose, and prescribe for psychiatric conditions. I also use small applications of evidence-based cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies to aid the effectiveness of medications. When with a patient, I listen closely and have respectful acknowledgment of unique needs, which aids me in addressing both immediate and long-term concerns. My interventions can incorporate mindfulness exercises and patient cultural practices.
My prior experiences include working with hospitalized, dual-diagnosed, incarcerated, emerging adult, and/or underserved populations. I also have a deep understanding of those recovering from or experiencing cult involvement, physical/emotional/sexual abuse, miscarriage/infertility, grief, and gender dysphoria.
Whether someone is battling long-standing challenges or facing something new and frightening, I’m here to assist. I wholeheartedly respect the courage it takes to seek help and share struggles. Every person is an individual—not just a diagnosis. Thus, my goal is to create a safe space where each patient feels valued and validated. I look forward to working with my patients!
