Social Worker

Hiya! I’m Kaz Almeida. I provide therapy services at our Taunton clinic.

I’m a social worker on track for my LCSW this coming year. I have experience working with children as young as 4 through adults as old as 44 (though I’m happy to work with any age)! I approach therapy less as a “what can you fix about yourself/what’s wrong with me” self-fault mentality, and more as a chance to explore what may be affecting you across all aspects of your life, including your living situation, socioeconomic factors, and more. I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be heard, understood, and supported. I hope to work with you!

My specialty is Narrative Therapy, and I love working with people in the LGBTQ+/Queer community. Narrative Therapy can help you improve your life without giving up what makes you, you. It recognizes that problems aren’t always your own, but can be shaped by the world around you, too, while helping you find ways to live authentically and happily.

I believe that acknowledging that not everything is always in your control is a key part of therapy. We can’t control everything that happens to us, but we can learn how to adapt, overcome, and thrive when faced with things outside our control. I look forward to helping you find those tools and build a life that feels like your own.
