Master of Social Work

Hello! My name is Julia Cassidy and I am an MSW at our Salem clinic. I have experience working with young children, adolescents, and adults. My goal as your therapist is to give a listening ear, provide psychoeducation, and to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment for all of my clients. My approach includes person-centered, strength-based modalities with interventions that best support each client. As a client of mine, you will have the space to speak freely without fear of judgement, rejection, or misunderstanding.
I enjoy using trauma-focused, person-centered, strengths-based, and cognitive behavioral therapy to support clients in meeting their goals. Some of the interventions I use are art therapy, narrative storytelling, play therapy, and sensory play. My goal is to support every client with free expression and to provide knowledge on coping skills.
I believe meaningful therapy begins with creating a safe, trusting, and supportive rapport with each client. I understand that it can be scary to reach out for help. I approach each session with compassion and curiosity. Rather than providing quick fixes, I work collaboratively with clients to explore their concerns, develop strategies, and identify goals.
