Mental Health Counselor

Hi, my name is Jennifer Hernandez and I am an outpatient clinician at Northeast Health Services in Chelsea!
I have worked with many diverse children from youth to adolescents. I place great emphasis in a trauma-informed approach to care, and creating a safe and supportive environment where you feel seen, heard, and respected. I have supported people navigating things like emotional regulation, anxiety, depression, grief, and trauma. In our work together, I might draw from approaches like art therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness, and techniques from ACT, CBT, and DBT—always tailoring things to what feels most helpful for you.
Together, we can gain an understanding of how past experiences shape your present emotions and behaviors, and how your lived in environment and world impacts your daily living and experiences at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Use this space to vent, strive for change, or to speak of accomplishments and successes.
Grounded in empathy, trust, and non-judgment, my priority is building a strong therapeutic relationship as the foundation for healing. I understand that it takes a lot of courage to seek support and strive to foster a space where you can reconnect with your inner resilience, develop self-awareness, and cultivate meaningful change in your life.
