Hi there! My name is Javier Andrés Vargas and I am an outpatient therapist at our Lawrence clinic.
I have worked with children, teens, and young adults for years. I have also spent many years working with individuals navigating crisis and/or difficult periods in their life including – but not limited to – sexual violence, domestic violence, initmate partner violence, housing insecurity, academic difficulties, relationship changes, and grief. As a transgender man I have a particular fondness and much experience working with transgender and gender-diverse individuals. I have also worked extensively with cisgender queer folks.
I want to work with you to create and manage our space together for exploration, celebration, insight, and problem-solving. Using tools I offer that we agree upon together we can explore thoughts, feelings, and past experiences. We can also use our time and space to address real-time issues without diving deeply into past difficult experiences.
I believe that working together we can create a space for you to explore thoughts and feelings that you might not have time during your day to sit with. I look forward to hearing about you, who you are, who you want to be, and where we can work together in the midst of all those pieces.
