Intern
Hi, my name is Eliyahu Lipsker, and I am a graduate student intern in mental health counseling. I have about eight years of work experience in the mental health field, and have worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. I work with clients from a wide array of ages, ranging from children to older adults, but I am particularly passionate about working with adolescents and young adults. I work with clients who are struggling with a wide range of mental health issues including depression, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, interpersonal or relationship issues, family conflict, issues of adjustment, attachment, and more.
I offer clients a safe and accepting space in which they can openly share, explore, and discuss whatever feelings, thoughts, or issues in their life that they choose to address or work on. I believe that the development of a trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationship/rapport between me and my client is central to the work we do together.
I enjoy working with clients from a diverse array of social and cultural backgrounds. I utilize a humanistic, person-centered approach to counseling, rooted in unconditional positive regard and acceptance, empathy, and genuineness. I view clients as the experts on their own lives, who are each working toward their own unique pursuits and goals.
