Social Worker
I am a clinician at our Danvers clinic who provide therapy services.
When reduced to its core essence, therapy is about building a space where individuals can freely express themselves, to be seen for who we are and who we wish to be without the fear of rejection or judgment. Each individual brings in their own knowledge and lived experience, and it is always my privilege and honor to be let into another individual’s world and witness the trials they have endured, to hold a safe space when life does not feel easy or peaceful, and to embrace the vulnerability that comes with uncertain change. More than that, therapy is about empowerment, and you will find in me both a supporter and an advocate
I put my own strength-based and self-compassionate twist on the basic techniques of motivational interviewing and solution-focused therapy, and blend in neuroscience, CBT, and DBT principles when applicable. Having worked with BIPOC and immigrants and LGBTQIA2S+ folx, I also use liberation practice to discuss the impacts of oppression on individual health.
Having lived through oppression and traumatization for most of my life, I have learned to appreciate human ingenuity and tenacity in the face of insurmountable challenges. Acceptance is hard; self-acceptance is even harder, and as someone who’s still learning about both, I warmly invite you to join me for a part of this life-long journey.
