Terri Place, LPC

Terri is a licensed professional counselor with more than 25 years of clinical experience. She provides counseling to tweens, adolescents, young adults and adults, and has worked in a variety of clinical settings including residential treatment centers, psychiatric hospitals, and private practice.

Terri Place works with individuals with clients of all ages struggling with a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, relationship issues and self-injurious behaviors.  Terri has extensive experience working with teenagers with Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Conduct Disorder. In working with young people, Terri respects the importance of including family members, and family therapy is often an integral component of the adolescent’s treatment. In addition, Terri has expertise helping individuals with developmental disabilities.

Terri’s therapeutic approach is strengths based, focusing on the inherent positive qualities of each person to empower clients and support them in reaching therapeutic goals. She utilizes several different therapy modalities including Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Reality Therapy.

Terri recently moved here from Virginia. She received her Masters in Counseling from WVU, has been licensed in Virginia since 1998, and obtained her Pennsylvania license in 2019. Terri lives in the Pittsburgh area and enjoys biking, going to the drive-in and attending outdoor festivals with her husband.
