McKayla holds an MBA from Johnson & Wales University, where she also earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Currently, McKayla is pursuing a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Merrimack College. She received invaluable experience at an inpatient facility, gaining hands-on experience in supporting individuals on their healing journeys.
She also collaborated closely with supervising psychologists at an outpatient facility to develop and implement exposure therapy-based care plans tailored to each patient’s needs. This included facilitating exposure therapy sessions for individuals, families, and groups, promoting resilience and emotional well-being. She also supported parents in adopting effective exposure coaching strategies, empowering them to manage their child’s anxiety symptoms with confidence.
Her dedication has driven her mission to normalize discussions around mental health, promoting awareness and understanding. In her free time, McKayla finds joy in spending quality time with friends and attending hot yoga classes for relaxation. She also loves going on hikes with her dog Avocado and listening to live music.
