In my extended years of practice as a clinical therapist, I have done individual work with adults and adolescents, as well as family and group therapy for inpatients and outpatients in a psychiatric hospital setting. I did similar work in a special education school-partial hospital program where I was a member of the classroom team. While at the school I developed and ran a program for foster and adoptive parents. I have been the director of casework for an agency serving the visually handicapped and I have done crisis intervention on call for a national crisis care network. For the past 22 years I have been with InterCare working with adults, adolescents, couples, and families. In my wide range of training and experience I have learned to use a variety of therapeutic approaches which I adapt to each individual or family with whom I meet. These include insight-oriented therapy, cognitive-behavior therapy, crisis care, grief work, family-systems work and relaxation-stress reduction therapy. In recent years I have become increasingly interested in and studied a variety of relaxation, stress-reduction and mindfulness meditation approaches which I believe provide long-lasting and sustainable stability that allows for optimal emotional and physical health and well-being.
