Kayla Brogan, MA, MHC

Mental Health Counselor

I am a counselor at our Newton clinic who provides therapy services!

My ideal client is willing to try, whether you have been to therapy before or not – I am excited to meet you where you are. I am happy to work with children, adolescents, and adults who manage ADHD, depression, anxiety, OCD, relationship problems, stress, eating disorders, BDD, sexual / gender disorders, ASD, grief – or any individual who wants to talk things over with an objective person. Supporting individuals experiencing poverty, discrimination, stigma, poverty, inequality, major life events, isolation or turbulent relationships is a strength of mine. I have worked in both community and inpatient mental health settings serving diverse populations throughout my time in the field. All I ask from my clients is a willingness to remain curious, and grow.

The human experience can be very challenging, but it can also be deeply gratifying. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, where both client and therapist connect through our shared humanity building trust and empathy in the process. Healing trauma, unpacking stressors, and building insight through exploration will allow you to experience the world more fully and build the life you desire.

I am committed to creating a non judgmental, open space for my clients to explore their challenges, feelings and stressors. Together we can build coping skills, improve relationships, reduce distress, set goals, and enhance self-awareness. Whether you want to explore past experiences, manage difficult emotions, improve communication or overcome trauma – the therapeutic relationship will be based on empathy and trust. Therapy is about progress, not perfection. Setting aside time to prioritize your mental and emotional well being is one of the greatest gifts you can give to yourself. The relationship you have with yourself will be the longest, and most intimate one you will have in this lifetime. So let’s make it a good one.
