Intern

Hello! My name is Kaleigh Dussourd, and I am a Social Work student interning here at Northeast Health Services – Woburn this year. I am a second-year graduate student with experience providing individual and group therapy with children, adolescents, and adults. Before graduate school, I worked with students with disabilities in a school setting, and I have also worked with individuals and families experiencing housing inequity. These experiences have shaped my strengths-based, trauma-informed, and person-centered approach to supporting clients. My goal is to work alongside you to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable being yourself as we work through stress, challenges, and experiences that may feel difficult to manage.

Working together, we can create a supportive space to explore emotions, build on your strengths, and break larger goals into manageable steps. Depending on your needs and preferences, I can incorporate approaches and skills such as mindfulness, CBT-based strategies, narrative therapy techniques, and for children, play therapy. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care, meaning we will focus on creating a sense of safety, choice, and control throughout the therapeutic process.

Asking for help can be difficult, and I hope to make the process feel welcoming rather than overwhelming. You do not need to have everything figured out or know exactly what you want to work on before reaching out. I believe that therapy is a space where you can come as you are and take the time to better understand yourself. I will approach our work together with curiosity, openness, and without judgment. We can take things at your pace, build on what is already working, and adjust when something is not. Wherever you are in your journey, I am looking forward to supporting you towards your next step.
