Clinical Mental Health Counselor
I am a clinician at our Attleboro clinic who provides therapy services!
My ideal clients are individuals and families from immigrant and refugee backgrounds who speak English, Swahili, or Portuguese. Many of them have experienced trauma and struggle with mental health challenges such as depression, social anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and schizophrenia. They often face the complexities of adjusting to a new culture, navigating systemic barriers, and processing deep emotional pain, which can affect their ability to thrive. Their main needs are understanding, support, and effective strategies to manage their mental health symptoms and improve their overall well-being. They want a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore their emotions, heal from past trauma, and develop coping skills to manage everyday challenges. Their goal is to find stability, improve relationships, and live fulfilling lives despite their struggles.
I specialize in helping these vulnerable populations by using evidence-based therapeutic modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). I also tailor interventions to meet their unique cultural backgrounds and needs, ensuring that therapy feels relevant and accessible.
I want my clients to know that I truly understand the complexities of their experiences and I’m here to offer compassionate support. I aim to empower my clients, building trust and helping them set achievable goals. I believe in the power of healing, and I invite anyone who is struggling to reach out for help. Together, we can work toward a brighter, more balanced future.
